A more intense workout for the mid section is the oblique crunch, which tightens the oblique muscles that run down either side of your torso. By tightening these muscles, your love handles will quickly diminish in size.

To do an oblique crunch lie on the floor, on your back and raise your knees so that your feet are vertical to the ground and you legs have a 90-degree bend in them. Lace your fingers behind your head and begin to lift your shoulders from the ground. As you come up begin to twist touching your left elbow to your right knee.

At this point focus on your abdominal muscles and squeeze them tight. Then slowly untwist back to your starting position. Then repeat this pattern on the other side. Very quickly you will begin to notice your abdomen and your love handles simply melting away.
