There is nothing sadder than flabby arms, and this is because it is so easy to keep your arms in decent shape by simply doing a few arm toning exercises a few days a week. These exercises take just a few minutes to do, and they give your arms a well-toned appearance. Here are several exercises that you can work into your rotation.

Bar Bell Bicep Curl is an Easy Arm Toning Exercise

Doing a barbell biceps curl is a good foundational exercise for your regimen. It is probably one of the easiest exercises to do correctly, and it lets you use heavy weights. Stand with your feet as wide as your shoulders to give you a good sturdy foundation, and then lift the barbell. Remember to hold your stomach muscles tight and lift your chest. As you curl your arm up, make sure that you curl just above a 90-degree angle. Always lower your weight slowly so that you are resisting gravity, and hold your elbows stationary while you are lifting and lowering the weights.

Alternate Dumbbell Curl is another Easy Arm Toning Exercise

There is an alternate version of the dumbbell curl, and it can work very well because it lets you focus on a single arm. You can use this exercise to alternate between your arms letting one arm rest while the other works out. By only working one arm at a time, you usually can lift a heavier weight, and you can concentrate on your technique. To find your position, stand up straight with a dumbbell in each hand. Now just curl one arm using the same motion as you used for the regular barbell curl. Bring the dumbbell up to your shoulder and slowly lower it. Rotate the dumbbell as you raise it from your side, and then rotate it back as you lower it. Your motions should be slow and controlled.

Skull Crushers Add Triceps to Regular Arm Toning Exercises

Triceps are a frequently underutilized muscle, so this is a great way to build up some strength in that area. This exercise yields speedy results if you use proper form, but if you do not, you could actually hurt yourself. Lie flat on a bench on your back and use a very light barbell. Hold the weight with both hands facing the ceiling. Shift the weight back farther over your head and hold it for a few seconds. Then slowly lift the weight back up. So your arms are going from a 90-degree angle to about a 125-degree angle and back to a 90-degree angle.

Just by doing a few of these arm toning exercises, your arms will begin to look great almost immediately.
