As you are trying to shed those few extra inches and pounds knowing the best stomach exercises to do to tone up, burn fat and get firm, will make the job of getting in shape just that much easier.
While there are many different exercises that you can do to tone your stomach muscles, there are only a few that really yield great results.
Bicycle Crunches are Great Exercises for Stomach
As you are deciding which stomach exercises you should incorporate into your routine, make sure to include only those which are most effective. Bicycle crunches have always been one of the best ways to tame a flabby stomach. A simple exercise, the bicycle crunch begins by lying flat on your back. Now, put hands behind your head and lift your body into an arch.

Do not pull on your neck with your hands, and keep your legs straight. If you are just starting you can bend your knees until your stomach and back get a little stronger. But good form will yield the best results.
Now begin to slowly peddle a bicycle while maintaining the arc in your position. This is a difficult exercise to do correctly, so begin with just a few repetitions and build your stamina from there.
Ball Crunches Effective Exercises for Stomach
You can also use an exercise ball to work out your stomach by doing crunches on it. If you do not have an exercise ball you will have to purchase one, which you can pick up at most athletic stores. Then, sitting on one edge of the ball lean backwards until you are resting on the ball. Hold your head and shoulders parallel with the ground.
Now you will simply do a crunch, but you have the add challenge of balancing on the exercise ball. This is a very effective exercise for your stomach.
While both of these are excellent exercises to build strong abdominal muscles, if you want to get really quick results, you will want to mix up your routine as much as possible. There are many exercises for stomach muscles, and by combining them with a sensible diet, you can have an amazing looking stomach in no time at all.
